McMillan School was built in the 1930's to a
very basic plan which remains much the same
all these years on. Basically it's a corridor with
3 classrooms coming off it.
Angela, the headteacher of the time (2003),
noticed the children, as they walked up and down this LOOOONG corridor (given that 3 year old leggies are quite short...) to and from the dinner hall, were running their fingers along the wall.
So when Creative Partnerships got us into the school, we designed this jigsaw wall - 10 pieces outside each of the 3 classrooms, with interchangeable panels. So staff and children can make panels, easily change them, and the children have something new for their fingers to explore.
